Simulink is a software package, built on the top of MATLAB, for modelling, simulating and analysing dynamical systems. Unlike from previous simulation packages that require formulating equations in a language or a program, Simulink provides a graphical user interface for building models as block diagrams. It offers a comprehensive block library of sinks, sources, linear and non-linear components and connectors from which blocks are taken and placed in model by using click and drag mouse operation. There is also possibility to construct user-defined blocks and block library. Models are hierarchical and both top-down and bottom up approaches are possible providing insight into how a model is organized and how its parts interact.
